Ways To Give

Every contribution makes a significant difference and through the collective generosity of our wider Headington community, we can continue to deliver an inspiring educational environment.

Headington School, Oxford is a registered charity (No 309678) and there are many ways to support Headington by any of the following easy and flexible means.

Single Donation

If you would like to make a single donation, please donate online here. If you are a UK taxpayer you will have the option through our online giving to make your gift even more beneficial for the School through the Gift Aid Scheme.

Regular Giving

Donating regularly on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis is one of the very best ways in which you can support Headington. It’s simple to set up and payments are collected automatically. A regular gift allows us to plan for the future with confidence. If you would like to set up a regular donation you can do so easily online here.

All donations of any size, added together can make a real difference to the School and our pupils. For example, to fund a bursary place at Headington, this is the equivalent to receiving:

£10 per month, from 120 people
£25 per month, from 48 people
£50 per month, from 24 people

Giving Your Time

We are very fortunate to have such a diverse and engaged community of Headingtonians, parents and friends supporting the School who are willing to give their time and share their expertise.

When joining Headington Connect, you are able to show your willingness to help through a variety of ways, enabling other members of the Headington community to reach out to you. And if you are interested in giving a lecture, co-hosting a workshop or want to help inspire our pupils in some other way, please contact Helen Batchelor hbatchelor@headington.org to discuss.

Legacies

There are considerable tax benefits in making a gift in this way – bequests can be made free from Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax, so by making such a gift, you could reduce the total tax burden levied on your estate to your family. If you are thinking about leaving a legacy please visit our legacies page for further information.

Tax Efficient Giving

Gift Aid
If you make a regular or a one-off gift, provided you are a UK taxpayer, you can help Headington further by gift-aiding your donation, which allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate, at no additional cost to you.

Higher and additional rate tax relief
If you are a higher (40 percent) or additional rate (45 percent) tax payer you can claim tax relief, calculated as the difference between the basic rate of tax (currently 20 per cent) and your tax rate, expressed as a percentage and applied to the total gross value of the gift.

Shares

Gifts of publicly-quoted shares offer the donor the possibility of claiming relief on Capital Gains Tax and Income Tax, which can make such gifts extremely tax-efficient, depending on the donor’s tax position.

Donations From The USA

If you wish to make a gift to Headington and take a US Internal Revenue Service income tax deduction, you may make a donation to the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF) expressing a preference for Headington School.

BSUF is a charitable organisation recognised by the US Internal Revenue Service under Section 501 (c) (3) of its codes. BSUF was founded more than 40 years ago to enable US residents to support British schools and universities in a tax-efficient manner and represents more than 200 schools and universities in the UK.
