Legacies

A legacy gift creates a permanent testimony to your affection for the School and allows you to provide support in a way in which you may not be able to during your lifetime.

Our aspiration is for any girl with the ability to win a place at Headington to be able to do so, regardless of parental income and one of the ways we do this is through legacies.

Any supporter who intends to make a legacy gift to Headington is invited to join the Peggy Dunn Society. The scheme is named after Peggy Dunn, a much-loved Headington headmistress who left a substantial bequest in her will for bursaries and scholarships.

The Society provides an opportunity to meet other members of the Headington community as well as keep up to date with the School’s progress and future plans. It’s an occasion that enables the School to recognise your generosity and to thank you in person.

Our aspiration is for any girl with the ability to win a place at Headington to be able to do so, regardless of parental income and one of the ways we do this is through legacies.

By making a charitable donation through a legacy gift can also reduce the total tax liability of your estate. All legacies to Headington are free from Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.

If you are comfortable doing so, please let us know if you intend leaving the School a legacy or bequest. Such a pledge does not bind you in any way, but it does give us the opportunity to share pertinent news and Peggy Dunn Society events with you, and, most importantly, to thank you for your support. Your response and any subsequent correspondence or discussion will be treated in the strictest confidence.

If you would like to find out more and are interested in leaving a legacy to the School please call Helen Batchelor (Headingtonian 1978), External Relations Trustee on +44 (0) 1865 759191.
