Activities for Sixth Formers

Once you join the Sixth Form at Headington Rye Oxford, a whole world of new and exciting opportunities is opened up to you. Many of our enrichment activities are exclusive to the Sixth Form and you are encouraged to take on leadership roles within other clubs and societies. Each year new organisations spring up, many created and run by some of our brilliant sixth formers.

Complementing And Supporting Academic Studies

All the evidence shows that well-rounded girls who pursue interests alongside their studies are the happiest and the most successful, both academically and in other aspects of their lives. We want you to have the opportunity to lead a club or start one if it’s something you’re passionate about. We want you to play for our Senior Tennis team, deepen your understanding of your faith at our Explore meetings, pose challenging questions to controversial figures giving talks and lectures or contribute to our new Heads Down newspaper.

We want you to have the opportunity to lead a club or start one if it’s something you’re passionate about.

Developing Transferable Skills

The skills developed through taking part in these kinds of activities – leadership, teamwork, co-operation, organisational skills, delegation, not to mention practical skills – will stay with you and complement the academic advances you are making in the classroom.
