Year 2 trip to The Pitt Rivers Museum

Earlier this week, Year 2 had a visit to Oxford’s Pitt Rivers Museum as an introduction to their new topic Land Ahoy!

The aim was to find out more about travel by sea in the past and in different cultures. The girls were amazed and intrigued by what they saw and the variety of ways different groups of people managed to travel on water. They used their observational skills to see the similarities and differences in the different types of boats and considered the various materials that had been used.

Year 2 enjoyed being curious like school bear Curious Chloe and came back to school raring to find out more about life at sea. The girls were great ambassadors for Headington Prep, demonstrating great behaviour and excellent manners.
