GSA Choir of the Year finals

On Sunday 28th April, the Headington Prep School Chamber Choir travelled to London to participate in the GSA Choir of the Year Finals.

The event took place at Wimbledon High School with eight finalist schools competing.

They beautifully sung their two pieces, ‘From a Railway Carriage’ by Nico Muhly and ‘We are the Future’ by Douglas Coombes and Mrs Evetts was very proud of all they achieved.

Despite not taking home the trophy, they really enjoyed listening to some fantastic music by all the schools there and taking part in such a prestigious event.

It was a particularly special day as all the finalists at the competition came together to perform ‘Singing for Joy’ which was a special piece composed by Simon Lole especially for GSA, to celebrate their 150th Anniversary. It was a joyful celebration of a united collective of singers that can be watched here.
