Sports Day 2022

Girls ran, hurdled and jumped their way to success in Headington’s annual sports day – breaking a few records in the process.

The event, held on Monday 4th July, was held in glorious sunshine as girls arrived covered in accessories and face paint displaying their house colours to get everyone in the competitive spirit.

There were some standout performances across the day, notably Chrissy in U3 equaling the junior High Jump record which has stood for 20 years! The Victrix Ludorum represents the athlete who has accumulated the most points individually, which is an impressive achievement. The winners this year were Isabella in U3, Amy in L4, Lexie in U4, Isabella in L5 and Mathilda in L6.

The young sportswomen competed in their houses for the junior, inter and senior sports day cup. Each athlete’s total was added up across the range of track and field events to see which house ended up in poll position. When all the points were totted up, Cranmer took the Junior Cup, Ford the Inter Cup and Oxen the Senior Cup. The Sports Day House Trophy was awarded to Evenlode.
