Poetry by Heart

A L4 girl has been recognised after an impressive poetry performance.

After winning our internal school competition with her thrilling declamation of Edwin Morgan’s poem, ‘Hyena’, Elsa was invited to send a recording of her performance to the national Poetry by Heart competition, for which she was awarded ‘Best in County’.

Head of English, Dr Mairead McKendry, commented, ‘This is a real achievement which recognises her excellent public speaking skills: well done, Elsa!’
