L4 Trip to Hampton Court

L4 travelled back in time hundreds of years at Hampton Court on Thursday 14th November as they visited Hampton Court to explore themes of the Tudor period.

Workshop leaders in costume helped bring the past to life and our students rose to the challenge when answering questions, taking on roles and becoming animated in a debate to decide who could be an heir for Elizabeth when she nearly died from smallpox at the palace in 1562.

A tour of Henry VIII’s apartments revealed some fascinating details, including eavesdroppers on the beams in the Great Hall and the evocative spot where he married Catherine Parr, as well as his private pew in the chapel. The chance to sit at high table in the hall was a moment few could resist!
