A Visit from the Principal of Green Templeton College

On Friday 14th June, Professor Denise Lievesley, Principal of Green Templeton College, gave a wonderfully insightful and thought-provoking talk to the Sixth Form about her career as a social statistician.

She discussed her work at the Home Office, the United Nations, the UK Data Archive and in academia. After her speech there were many questions on an eclectic range of issues including the accuracy of Chinese economic data, the size of the UK “Black” economy, methodology in data collection and measuring poverty and inequality.

Mr Paul Thomas, Economics teacher at Headington School said; “It was really valuable for the girls to hear from such an eminent social statistician.”
