Year 6 leavers’ assembly

The whole school gathered together in the Theatre along with the Year 6 parents to celebrate the achievements of their daughters who leave Headington Prep School at the end of this term.

The Rev Tom Howell spoke to them about these formative years at the Prep School forming the foundations of their learning and wished them well as they move onto secondary school.

The whole school sung the ‘leavers’ song’ to the pupils and many had to reach for the tissues as the emotions of leaving school hit them.

All the Year 6 children received awards and heard from their teachers about their achievements at the Prep School. They then sung their final song of ‘Stand by me’ before their proud parents were able to congratulate them.

It was a lovely celebration at the end of a busy term and reminded them that summer holidays are just around the corner and then new adventures in the autumn are waiting for them.
