Year 5 Music Afternoon

Year 5 truly excelled themselves in this year’s annual Music Afternoon, delivering a delightful and varied programme that celebrated their musical progress and creativity.

The audience was treated to a wide range of instruments on display, including horn, flute, violin, clarinet, piano, drums, and voice.

The concert opened with Tilly performing a beautiful rendition of the ‘Theme from Titanic’ on the horn, setting the tone for a wonderful afternoon.

One of the standout moments was the original composition ‘Flowers’, written and performed by Aimi, Hattie, Sienna, Mhicko, Alice, and Immy, with Immy accompanying on piano.

Head of Music Mrs Aimee Evetts said: “Their song was performed with confidence and expression – a brilliant example of collaborative creativity.

“I particularly loved our drummers who absolutely rocked the concert with truly brilliant performances.”

Isla gave a powerful performance of ‘I Was Made for Lovin’ You’ by KISS, and Sophia impressed everyone with her confident and energetic version of ‘Master of Puppets’ by Metallica.

To close the concert, Mrs Lindsay Stuart led the children in a four-part performance of ‘Engine, Engine No. 9’, a vibrant and dynamic piece that linked perfectly to their classroom work on the Blues.

Mrs Evetts said: “It was a fantastic way to end a concert full of talent, energy and joy.

“Well done to all the performers – what a celebration of Year 5’s musical journey!”
