Year 4 trip to Oxford Natural History Museum

On Tuesday 19th September, Year 4 headed to the Oxford Natural History Museum to become ‘ROCKstars’ for the day.

Whilst there, they met rock expert Chris who taught them all about the formation of the Earth and where rocks come from. They learnt all about igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks and also got to see and touch some unusual rocks including malachite, pumice and even a meteorite!

Later, they had the chance to explore the museum where they hunted for diamonds and gemstones. They also had time to explore the animal and dinosaur exhibits too. All in all, a ROCKing school trip!
