Year 3 met a professional Guitarist

As part of their unit about American blues musician Elizabeth Cotton, Year 3 had an exciting visit from a professional guitarist.

Aaron Iley, from the band ‘InAir’ brought in a selection of guitars for the girls to listen to, investigate and play alongside.

He also demonstrated some different guitar techniques and answered lots of questions about his musical journey. The girls learnt that he has needed lots of perseverance to be successful.

The budding young musicians impressed Aaron with their knowledge of the history of blues and rock music and enjoyed singing some of this term’s songs with live guitar accompaniment.
