Year 1 dance workshop

Headington Prep was transformed into a riot of colourful feathers, sequins and tulle as the carnival rolled into town for the day.

Year 1 enjoyed a special visit from One Day Creative who ran a Brazil Carnival Workshop on Friday 7th June.

The event was aimed at kick-starting the class’s Rio de Vida topic. During the day, girls listened to a variety of Brazilian music, completed a quiz about Brazil to test their knowledge and discover new exciting facts, explored where Brazil was on the inflatable globe and created their own Samba dances.

It was an engaging and exciting day which the pupils really benefitted from. They learnt a huge amount about Brazil and the carnival and thoroughly enjoyed wearing their multicoloured outfits for the day.
