World Book Day 2023

A host of events celebrating all things related to reading and books took place at Headington to mark World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March.

Literary events and celebrations abounded, including a book-themed Prayers video; a ‘Who am I?’ character quiz; the opportunity to have a ‘Blind Date with a Book’; a ‘drop everything and read’ event and a range of displays in the Library.

The highlight of the day was an inspiring visit from poet Harry Baker. The L4, U4 and L5 were treated to performances in the Hive Lecture Theatre and pupils from U4-U6 participated in a workshop with Harry, producing dynamic, innovative poems of their own. A fabulous day for all book lovers!

Iris, from U3, said: “This Thursday it was World Book Day, all of U3 and L4 spent tutor time reading a book. I read Inkheart and would recommend it to others because it is very imaginative because the main character can turn books into life and it also has a great ending.”
