U6 Leavers Week 2025

There were plenty of hugs, laughter and even a few tears as Headington Rye Oxford’s Upper Sixth gathered for a joyful and emotional Leavers’ Day on Friday 2nd May, marking the end of their school journey before study leave begins.

The day followed a week of themed costumes and light-hearted activities designed to celebrate friendships and memories.

On the final morning, many girls arrived in formal dress, joining Sixth Form staff for a special farewell breakfast to begin the day of celebrations.

The mood was then both celebratory and reflective as girls filled the main hall for their final assembly at Headington Rye Oxford.

Teachers expressed their fond farewells and shared passages from treasured books and poems and even performed as part of the staff choir.

Finally, the group watched a hilarious student-produced video, inspired by ‘Carpool Karaoke’ and featuring well-known staff members, which had everyone smiling.

The celebrations concluded with girls returning to the Sixth Form Centre to collect their revision and exchange goodbyes.

Many shared their excitement at reuniting in July for U6 Prize Giving and of course, Foundation Day.

Meanwhile, Headington Rye Oxford’s Year 11 pupils also marked an important milestone as they prepare for their upcoming GCSE exams.

With shirt-signing and well-wishes shared among friends, the focus now turns to revision and preparation.

Best of luck to all our girls sitting public exams – we are cheering you on every step of the way!
