U11 IAPS National Netball finals

Monday 18th March

The U11 IAPS squad of Evie, Emma, Isla, Cassidy, Isobel, Lucie, Esme and Mia travelled to Bryanston School for this National competition. Only 20 schools qualified for the Nationals from over two hundred that started the competition, which is an achievement in itself! They were in good spirits following their emphatic win at regionals a few weeks ago. They played very well and enjoyed some very close matches but finished bottom of their group which meant that they qualified for the bowl competition. They made it to the third/fourth place play off and won this final game of the day 11 – 0 and came away from the competition with a bronze medal. Well played everyone.

Player of the day: Evie – great captaincy and her performance throughout the day was excellent.

Special mention: Mia – for stepping in at late notice and playing really well.

Results:

Headington 7 – 8 Hoe Bridge

Headington 3 – 6 Halstead St Andrews

Headington 4 – 5 Pownall Hall School

Headington 4 – 8 Hurlingham School
