U10 Hockey v St Andrew’s

On Monday 28th November, two teams of U10s from Headington Prep played against St Andrew’s Primary School on home turf.

The Headington girls took a little time to get up to the same speed as St Andrew’s in these games, however once they realised they had to match the boys in terms of fortitude and determination, the team began to play with more confidence.

There was some excellent attacking play displayed by Grace and Alice. Esme showed great defensive work and tackled with strength. Xanthe also demonstrated good positional awareness on the pitch.

One team lost 4-2 and the other team won 3-1.

Mrs Katie Merrick, PE Teacher at Headington Prep said: “Some fantastic goals were scored and plenty of promising play was displayed by the Headington girls in two hard fought games, well played everyone.”
