South Central Schools Under 11 girls In2Hockey
Congratulations to the squad of Audrey, Phoebe, Mairi, Lily, Abby, Catherine, Nancy, Alice, Iona and Charlie who finished in third place at the South Central Schools tournament. This competition involved the top teams from Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
Their first game was against Lambrook and this proved to be a bit of a wake up call with the opposition winning 4-1. Headington then played Farleigh (who were the eventual winners) and came away with a strong 2-0 win. The next match against Cheam was end to end and the result of 2-2 was fair to both teams. They then beat Durlston Court 1-0 and finished with a 0-0 draw against St Piran’s. The squad should be commended on their enthusiasm, attitude and team spirit. Thank you to Miss Merrick and Mr Deakin for all their hard work.
