Silver Cycling Medal for Iris
A Headington Rye Oxford cyclist is celebrating after collecting a silver medal in a national cycling competition.
On Sunday 6th July, Iris, Year 11, took part in the National Junior Road Race in Huntingdon.
Over the course of the two and a half hour race, she executed an excellent breakaway, bridging onto another breakaway, finishing second ahead of eight riders on the Olympic Development Squad.
Iris, who is a member of LIV Cycling Club, finished five seconds behind the eventual winner. A full report by British Cycling can be read here.
