Sally Nicholls on World Book Day

The highlight of this year’s World Book Day celebrations at Headington was a visit from author Sally Nicholls.

The Carnegie-shortlisted author came to talk to girls about her young adult books.

Sally spoke to U3, L4 and U4 about ‘Things a Bright Girl Can Do’ – a historical fiction telling the suffragette story from the point of view of three young women, as well as ‘All Fall Down’ which covers the Black Death.

She then ran a creative writing session for students before signing copies of her books for some of her fans.

Headington Librarian Mrs Sandra Lees said: “We were very lucky to have a popular author to come in and celebrate World Book Day with us.”
