Four Headington mathematicians achieved impressive results in a contest aimed at encouraging girls to tackle advanced Maths.

Judy (U5), YuKate (U6), Sophie (L6) and Rose (U6) took part in the Maths Olympiad for Girls, a two and a half hour exam consisting of five very challenging problems. All four girls achieved a Distinction certificate, the highest certificate on offer.

Mrs Sarah Sandys, Head of Mathematics at Headington School said: “Well done to all of the girls who took part, they all did fantastically in a tough exam.

“Special congratulations go to Judy who scored an impressive 47 out of 50; meaning she will also win a book prize and automatically qualifies for the British Maths Olympiad in December. Amazing achievements!”

Judy’s results put her in the top 30 scorers taking part in the Olympiad across the UK.
