Lord Mayor Visit

Oxford’s Lord Mayor visited Headington to discuss the School’s community links.

Headmistress Mrs Caroline Jordan, Outreach Co-ordinator Mr James Stephenson and Sixth Form Community Service Co-ordinator Miss Anisha Charania met the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Mark Lygo, on Thursday 10th March.

Mr Lygo praised Headington for its collaborative work with local primary schools and the value added to those pupils receiving support with reading and maths skills from Headington students.

The SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training) programme run through Headington School benefits local Secondary Schools and Headington strongly encourages them to take on some of the trainee Physics and Maths teachers coming through the program.

The School is always looking for other opportunities to partner up and support local schools.

The School looks forward to developing a strong relationship with the Lord Mayor and the projects he supports; sport, culture, wellbeing through Headington’s charities and community volunteering programme.
