Jackson Pollock comes to Headington

Year 2 have spent time looking at the work of artist Jackson Pollock this term.

Trying to produce some similar masterpieces, the girls spent an afternoon creating paintings by rolling a marble dipped in paint around in a tray and by blowing runny paint across a page. The girls were intrigued by his methods and enjoyed being creative themselves.

Mrs Joanna Haynes, Acting Head of Key Stage 1, said: “It was wonderful to see our girls getting stuck into a new method of mark making. We were very impressed with the outcomes and our classrooms are now very bright! Well done everyone!”
