Headington Sports Awards

The 2023 Headington Sports Awards evening was filled with glitz and glamour as the Main Hall was wonderfully lit and filled with young athletes and their parents in black tie attire.

The awards are a highlight of the school year as an opportunity for the Sports Department to come together and celebrate the many fabulous achievements of the individuals and teams at school.

In the 2022/2023 season, the Sports Department have had some fantastic successes, which were celebrated throughout the evening. At key intervals during the event, the audience heard a number of speeches detailing the highlights of the key sports, individuals and teams.

The School was honoured to welcome GB and England Hockey star Lily Owsley who joined as the guest speaker. Before the awards began, the athletes had plenty of time to ask her questions and even hold her Olympic medals! Lily presented herself as an exemplary sports figure passed on plenty of wisdom to the Headington stars and stars of the future.

Mrs Sarah Grant, Director of Sport at Headington School said: “The evening was simply fantastic, I couldn’t have hoped for a better night! Well done to all of our nominees and winners, but also to our staff and technical team for their help in making the night such a success.”
