Headington Equestrian Team put on impressive display

The Headington School Equestrian Team took part in the National Schools Equestrian Association event on Friday 9th April at Cedars Upper School, Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire.

Headington girls Cecily (U3) riding Rocket and Summer (Year 4) riding Yogi Bear entered the 60cm and 70cm show-jumping rounds against teams from schools across the South East of England. The complex course comprised 12 jumps with horse and rider timed from the first to the last gate.

Both Cecily and Summer rode clear rounds in the 60cm event and after individual times were recorded, out of a field of over 50 riders, Cecily placed 10th and Summer 11th – an outstanding achievement!

The 70cm event saw an even more competitive field of 45 riders but once again Cecily and Summer rode clear rounds – improving on their times from the previous round. Cecily placed 20th and Summer 28th.

The Headington School Equestrian Team is keen to recruit – if you ride and would like to be involved in the team please contact the manager, Anna Chanter, on anna@annajohnson.co.uk.
