Girls visit Lee Valley to watch GB Hockey

On Friday 7th June, 42 girls from U3 to U6 went to watch Great Britain play Hockey against Germany at Lee Valley in London.

Read an account from Jemima, L5.

“It was an amazing experience and so much fun, especially for those who had never been to an international fixture before. The match itself had us all on the edge of our seats with goals from both GB and Germany. The half-time entertainment made the experience even better as we waited for the second half of the match to begin. Nearing the end of the game, it became very tense, with the score level at 3-3. With just 17 seconds left, Germany managed to score a late goal and win the match with a final score of 4-3.

“After the match was over, sticks and balls were provided for us to play on the pitch, having a hit around and taking photos with the players from both GB and Germany. Once the energy and excitement was out of our system it was time for us to leave and head back to Oxford with some unforgettable memories. I would definitely recommend going to watch a professional Hockey match for those who are interested, play or just enjoy watching the sport. Even though we didn’t come away with a win, it was still an amazing experience and I learnt so much.”
