Girls reach chess championship final

On Sunday 14th January, the Headington Prep School chess team travelled to St Catherine’s School, Bramley to participate in the English Chess Federation Girls’ School Chess Championships, Southern Semi-Final. The competition involved three players from each team playing a game of chess against five different school teams over the course of the day.

The Prep School team performed amazingly well, scoring 12.5 out of a possible 15 points, placing second out of 55 teams. They have also qualified for the national final of the tournament which will take place later in April. Well done girls!
