Forest School at Prep

Nursery and Reception girls have had a magical experience at Forest School this term.

This term, the children have enjoyed climbing snowdrop and bark chip mountain, exploring the secret path, climbing in the trees, birdwatching, hunting for minibeasts and building dens. The children have learned and recapped the fire safety rules with Miss Ruth Sibly.

They’ve also enjoyed observing the seasons changing and have asked questions such as; “why do some leaves fall off and some stay on the trees”.

A highlight of every trip is the Forest School snack where the children have hot chocolate, flapjack and fruit under the school’s beautiful autumnal trees.

Miss Sibly, Head of Early Years, said: “The girls and teachers have had so much fun during our Forest School sessions this year. Watching the girls learning while being outside is one of the many joys of my job!”

Early Years Foundation Stage girls attend Forest School at the Senior School weekly in a Nursery group and a Reception group.
