Football v Oxford High

Both the Headington Prep School U10s and U11s had tough Football matches against Oxford High School on 8th November.

U11s

Lost 0-5

In the first half, they were undone by a brilliant solo performance from one of the Oxford High players. The girls soon cottoned on to the main threat and did their best to rearrange their tactics and disrupt their opponents’ game plan. In the second half, the girls improved their play and battled really well, managing only conceding a single goal. The team were organised and defended well while having some great bursts of attacking play mainly through Avani and Avi. Sadly, the team lost 0-5 however Miss Merrick would definitely say this was not a true reflection of their efforts!

U10s

Won 2-0

The U10s side edged a close-fought contest against Oxford High with a 2-0 victory. In the first half, Headington created good chances and had confident shots on goal, only to be thwarted by the goalkeeper. The Headington defence had to be alert to dangerous counter attacks from Oxford High with Lily, Florence, Eve and Summer providing a stubborn rear-guard. The goals came in the second half through Charlotte and Jemimah. In all, a great first outing for the U10s!
