Football Regional Finals – U11s
On Monday 23rd May Headington footballers headed to the regional finals of the National League Trust Cup. Representing Oxford City in the U11s Cup, they were very excited to be given a smart kit to wear for the day.
In the first game they started strongly, though were unable to convert the pressure they applied to the opposition. Eastleigh pushed back and managed to convert. The final score was 0-1.
The next two games against Hereford and Bath City FC were 0-0 draws, down to some good solid defending from the team and great goalkeeping by Saskia.
In the final game of the rounds, Torquay scored early but Oxford City managed to equalise in the last few minutes. The score was 1-1.
Unfortunately, the team just missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals. Well done to all those who played!
