Exam students perform original theatre

U5 and U6 Drama students performed four pieces of original theatre for their GCSE and A Level exams. The pieces ranged in performance styles, including naturalistic, physical theatre and theatre of cruelty, across a broad range of themes including plastic surgery, domestic abuse and mental health.

All students performed to an exceptionally high level with many audience members commenting on their professionalism, high performance standards, and on the pieces being ‘emotive and intense’, ‘thought-provoking’ and ‘intriguing’.

The budding actresses must now complete coursework to explain the process of creating their work, before turning their attention to their mock written examinations in January.

Mr Phil Macken, Director of Drama said: “This was a fantastic evening of theatre, showing a wide range of students performing to an exceptional standard.”
