ESSA Swimming Regional Finals 2022
Headington Prep produced another strong performance at the English Schools Swimming Association South East Regional Finals on Saturday 7th May.
They were entered in ‘Open Schools’ which was a fiercely contested category. Going into the competition, they were ranked eighth in the two events in which they were entered – medley relay and freestyle relay – so it was going to be tough to make either final.
In the medley relay, the team of Esme, Mia, Melissa and Jessica finished in a very creditable fourth. In the freestyle relay Headington finished an amazing first in a close finish.
This means the team of Melissa, Ai-Ling, Jessica and Avila qualify for the National Finals in the freestyle relay which will be held on 16th June in Sheffield at Ponds Forge.The medley team were reserves for the finals but have also now been invited to swim in the Finals too
