Debaters progress in contest

On Wednesday 27th November, the Headington team of Hayley (U5), Bernice (U5) and Morgane (U6) qualified for the next round of the ESU Schools Mace.

The girls were competing in a very tough heat featuring (among other schools) Oxford High School and St Edward’s School.

Arguing for a restriction on air travel to a single return flight a year, the girls produced a really compelling performance, working superbly as a team. They were very ably assisted by Vennese (U6) who served as a mentor to the two younger members of the team and Tiffany (U6) who chaired the debate very ably.

Dr David Morrish, English teacher at Headington said: “The team are very excited by their passage to the next round which will take place early next year.”
