Daisy cheers for England

A L5 cheerleader travelled to Florida to represent her country in an international contest.

On Wednesday 20th April Daisy had the awesome experience of competing with the Team England Junior Pom team, a national Cheerleading team, in Orlando.

To get on the team she had to undergo a rigorous selection process which Daisy had to complete two times, after her first successful selection into the team for the competition held in April 2020 was cancelled due to Covid.

Daisy and her team did fantastically, coming seventh place against excellent teams including the US National Team and Team Mexico.

Her PE teacher Miss Rebecca Brown said: “We are extremely proud of Daisy for this achievement and her resilient efforts in training and competing outside of school.”

Mum Colleen travelled with her daughter to watch the contest in Florida.

She said: “It was an amazing experience for Daisy and I am so proud of her achievement. The cheerleaders were of such a high calibre and it was so impressive to see all their tricks and techniques.”

Daisy started cheerleading at the age of seven while living in Scotland.
