Creative Science in Year 5

Girls in Year 5 have been getting creative in Science.

In order to learn about gravity and air resistance, girls have participated in experiments every week.

They researched the free fall of Felix Baumgartner, built a lego car that could move without being pushed and designed the best paper helicopter. In order to understand the force created by air, girls ran around holding large pieces of card; this was very entertaining for everyone watching!

Year 5 made plans, tested their designs and adapted them. Most recently, they designed their own method for comparing the mass of a group of objects. Dr King and Mrs Clinch have been impressed with the perseverance demonstrated by pupils and the amazing collaboration skills they have developed.
