County Cricket Finals Days U15s

The U15 Cricket Team were in high spirits on 28th February as they took on the County Cricket Final tournament.

Six teams were involved in the round robin format to find a winner who would progress to the regional finals at Edgbaston. After two matches the girls could almost taste success with outstanding performances and two dazzling wins.

The next match was St Helen & St Katherine’s A team, who were last year’s national runners up! Unfortunately things didn’t start well with Headington four wickets down for only four runs in the first two overs. A five-minute blip in concentration that ultimately cost the girls the match.

The girls then went onto win their final two matches, resulting in a thoroughly-deserved runners up medal.

Mr Arthur Muir, Sports Coach at Headington School said: “I am extremely proud of all the girls for their courage and effort throughout the tournament.

“Everyone contributed throughout and it really was a squad effort. Well done girls. Next year’s goal is regional finals!”
