Year 1 visit Cotswold Wildlife Park

Year 1 enjoyed an exciting and informative trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park on Friday 19th April. They were given an interesting talk by Izzy, one of the Zoo Keepers, about classification of animals. They learnt to identify birds, mammals and reptiles using the emus, wallabies and giant tortoises as examples.

During the day they walked around the site spotting many different wild animals from giraffes to red pandas, meerkats to limas, penguins to rhinos. They even met the three emu chicks which were born at Christmas and learnt that an emus egg is green. How interesting!

The afternoon finished with an ice cream treat and a ride on the little steam train around the park! The pupils had a wonderful time and really enjoyed learning first hand about all the animals.
