Chance for contemplation – and fun – at retreat

Girls had a chance to spend some time considering the big questions at a special retreat.

On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September, 19 girls from U3 to L6 who are members of Headington’s Explore group took off in two minibuses for 26 hours, 27 miles away from school at St Katharine’s Retreat Centre, Parmoor.

During the overnight retreat, great food was consumed, copious games were played and questions relating to Christianity, identity, success and how God speaks, were discussed. Explore gives girls the opportunity to consider faith, meaning and life and what it might mean to be a Christian today.

The staff and girls were hugely grateful for the team of volunteers from Lymington Rushmore camps who came to lead activities on Saturday, including Combat Archery and Bubble Football.

As one of the girls who attended, Rebekah (U4), said, it was – “Filled with friends, faith and lots of fun!”
