Celebration of Strings 2024

On Thursday 29th February, Headington School held a wonderful concert showing off the talents of many string players performing solos, in duets and in ensembles.

The audience enjoy music played with a variety of string instruments including guitars and harps. Performances included highlights such as two sisters duetting with violins, and a guitar ensemble made up of more than 30 guitarists!

One particular highlight was a violin and piano duet from Libby (U5) and Victoria (L5), who moved the audience with a heartfelt performance of Beethoven’s Spring Sonata.

Ms Kate Hopkinson, Head of Strings said: “It was amazing to see so many talented girls. Some of them learned and rehearsed their piece themselves. Headington School is a great place because it gives anyone the opportunity to perform on smaller stages as well as on bigger ones, such as the Main Hall. I am very grateful to all the performers for all of their commitment and engagement and to all the members of staff involved for their hard work. They both made this concert an amazing experience!”
