Cadets tackle First Aid and field craft

Thirty members of Headington’s Combined Cadet Force contingent had an action-packed weekend on the 28th and 29th January with activities on First Aid and field craft.

Headington’s Junior cadet intake were learning to save lives on their course, covering primary survey and calling for help, recovery position, CPR and dealing with major bleeds. So, as in most of these First Aid courses, there was some impressive CPR in time to Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I will survive‘ and ‘Just Dance’ by Lady Gaga, as well as some dramatic scenarios for the effective bandaging for a variety of bleeding injuries.

Major Anisha Charania, Contingent Commander at Headington School, said: “Well done to these cadets on passing their Basic First Aid. Some of the second year cadets were working towards improving their Military Skills ready for team selection with some great air rifle marksmanship awards gained.”
