Annual Sports Awards 2022

On Thursday 28th April, Headington’s Sports Department hosted the annual sports awards ceremony which was a delightful evening recognising the successes of Headington’s sporting community.

The attendees began the evening with drinks and canapes in the Hive gallery as an opportunity for the girls to meet the evening’s guest speaker Emma Thacker. Emma is an Headingtonian who was the star of the School’s netball teams between 2014-2019. She currently represents Loughborough Lightning in the Netball superleague as goal attack/goal shooter and has represented the England Roses in the U21 age group.

The young sportswomen invited were nominated for a variety of sports awards including most improved; commitment to sport and all-rounder. There were also some special awards including recognition for international representation, outstanding achievement, team of the year and sportsperson of the year.
