A Royal Tea Party

On Monday 8th January, Year 2 returned to school with their party dresses at the ready for an afternoon learning all about the Royal family and customs.

They learned the correct way to greet a member of the Royal family and how to address them, after which they practiced their curtsies and sang the National Anthem. Then followed a wonderful tea party with delicious cucumber sandwiches and cakes baked by the Prep’s own start baker chef Michelle.

The girls used exquisite manners to request more sandwiches and cake and their teachers were delighted to be greeted as ‘Your Majesty’ throughout the party, despite serving them food!

Mrs Joanna Haynes said: “It was lovely to see the girls enjoying their first day back with such a memorable experience.”
