Graduation 2025
After a wonderful Secret Garden-themed prom, Year 13 returned to Headington Rye Oxford for Graduation on Friday 4th July.
Head of Sixth Form Mrs Alice Barrett said: “It is always an absolute honour to celebrate the amazing achievements of our departing students.
“From those who have been at the School for 15 years to those who joined us in the sixth form, there is always just so much to admire.”
The graduating class had received 488 university offers from 73 universities all over the world – from Harvard to Hong Kong and Barcelona to Bahrain.
The variety of courses, including traditional academic subjects such as Medicine, Veterinary, Law, Classics, English and History, to less conventional choices such as Fashion Communication, Cosmetic Science, Pattern Cutting, Musical Theatre and Film Production reflects how well Headington Rye helps students find their own path.
The range of interests from students was evident from the brilliant gap year projects alone (from martial arts to Cirque du Soleil).
Former pupil and staff member Lauren Bates-Brownsword exemplified this passion for engaging with every opportunity available in her moving speech about her journey to becoming a Criminal Barrister.
The determination and resilience she demonstrated were clearly helped along by the strength of support of the Headington Rye community.
Mrs Barrett said: “We are delighted that our class of 2025 now join this alumnae community and can’t wait to see what they do next. Congratulations to all of them!”
