Year 9 Ceilidh with Abingdon
On the evening of Tuesday 17th June, Year 9 hosted a group of boys from Abingdon School for their first mixed social.
Entertainment, in the form of a ceilidh, was provided by the superb Oxford NAGS ceilidh band and the pupils all threw themselves into the ceilidh dancing with great gusto.
What they might have lacked in skill they made up for in enthusiasm!
The band members commented at the end how lovely it was to see them all having a go and getting involved.
A break mid evening was taken for a buffet supper and some much needed fresh air as it was a hot evening, and the vigorous dancing had worn them out.
The revellers soon returned for the second half and more fun was had as they were introduced to “Strip the Willow” and “The Gay Gordons”.
The girls were great hosts and enjoyed making the acquaintance of the delightful Abingdon boys who represented their school impeccably.
Thanks go to the band and their caller for a wonderful evening of entertainment!
