KS1 Dress Showcase Performance
On Friday 6th June, Key Stage 1 children entertained parents and friends with their annual showcase performance.
Year 1 got the show off to a fabulous start with a performance of ‘The Bee musical’, highlighting through song, dance and spoken word the importance of Bees as a valuable part of our planet’s ecosystem.
Amazing costumes and props helped bring the show to life, enhancing the performance of the children, who did a fantastic job of learning lines, songs and stage directions.
After a brief interval, Year 2 wowed the audience with a moo-sical entitled ‘There’s a sunflower in my supper’ – the story of Daisy the cow and what happened when she planted a mystery bean.
Again, the children showed real talent and comic timing as they performed with songs, words and actions entertaining families and the whole school in the dress rehearsal.
Langley Lodge is still reverberating with the sound of the songs that the children just can’t stop singing!
Head of Key Stage 1 Mrs Joanna Haynes said: “We were very proud of the children and the performance they gave; each child worked hard to play their part and it was a real team effort.
“The children enjoyed every minute of it and learnt lots about collaboration as well as building valuable speaking and listening skills and following stage directions.”
