Year 4, 5 and 6 Campfire Wild Adventures

Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a fun filled two days camping onsite in Headington Rye’s beautiful prep school grounds amongst the towering trees, squirrels and muntjacs!

Working with a team of experienced explorers/mountaineers and supported by our brilliant prep school staff, the pupils took part in a range of survival and team building activities.

This included setting up their own tents, shelter building in the forest, learning how to light a fire, cooking, wildlife tracking, first aid/rescue scenarios and camouflage and concealment exercises.

Deputy Head Mrs Alexandra Prockter said: “It was fantastic to see the pupils throwing themselves into every activity, working collaboratively and utilising their problem solving skills.

“Their shelters passed the water test and their fajitas definitely passed the taste test.

“The pupils can’t wait for their next camp, with some stating that they had the best time of their lives!”
