Year 4 Music Afternoon

Year 4 pupils took to the stage with confidence and joy for this year’s Music Afternoon.

The concert opened with a touching rendition of ‘A Million Dreams’, beautifully sung by Lily and Amber, setting a heartfelt tone for the afternoon.

The audience was then treated to a series of impressive piano solos, showcasing the children’s musical dedication and progress.

This year also saw a number of fantastic vocal duets, with performances ranging from ‘Horrible Histories’ to film soundtracks and even a touch of Taylor Swift—demonstrating the range and enthusiasm of our young singers.

A special mention goes to Sasha, who gave her first performance on the flute after just two terms of learning—an inspiring moment for everyone watching.

Meanwhile, Jessica showed wonderful initiative by learning one of Headington Rye Prep’s favourite assembly songs, ‘Songbird’, on the piano and performing it with poise.

The afternoon ended with the whole year group singing ‘The Best That I Can Be’—a fitting finale that captured the spirit of the event and the children’s love for music.

Head of Music Mrs Amy Evetts said: “We are so proud of their achievements and can’t wait to see how they continue to flourish musically as they move up the School.”
