War Horse Drama Trip
On 23rd April, the Drama Scholars travelled to Milton Keynes to see the acclaimed National Theatre Production of ‘War Horse’.
The production is touring around the UK and Ireland and the pupils were lucky enough to catch it in Milton Keynes as the theatre there is big and the seating provides a great view of the action. The production is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford.
This powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness.
At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.
By the end of the performance there wasn’t a dry eye in the house and that included the Drama Scholars who were completely moved by the story.
Director of Drama Miss Jannicke Stevens said: “We spent the coach journey back to school discussing our favourite moments and relieving parts of the story, which is a sign of an excellent production. “
