Year 1 trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park

Year 1 had a wonderful day at Cotswold Wildlife Park on Thursday 24th April investigating different animals.

The children had the opportunity to explore and learn about a diverse range of species, including primates, small mammals and various bird species found throughout the garden and walled garden areas of the park.

They were also able to observe a diverse range of animals from around the world including lions, giraffes, camels, lemurs and flamingoes.

This experience will enhance their scientific, artistic, and imaginative writing, all centred around animals.

Throughout the day, the children gained valuable insights into the lives of these fascinating creatures, broadening their understanding of the animal kingdom through the keepers’ explanations.

The keepers explained the specific elements for mammals, reptiles and birds focussing on emus, wallabies and giant tortoises.

The children were encouraged to ask and answer questions, which further enhanced their learning experience.

The afternoon concluded with a delightful ice cream treat followed by a scenic ride on the park’s charming steam train, providing a perfect end to an educational adventure.
